Hope Springs Eternal
About this artwork
This painting started with big washes of bright high-pigment colour, followed by layers of neutral brush strokes and details. I love painting gum trees and foliage - you'll see this throughout most of my portfolio. It represents my complete love for Australian native flora; gum trees, eucalyptus leaves, gum nuts and blossoms in an abstract composition featuring neutral grey, purple, mauve, violet and brown, complemented by bright blue, pink, green and yellow.
The contrast is harmonious as well as striking. There is a lot to look at - and the photos simply do not do it justice.
This freeflowing moody painting was created using professional artist oil paint on gallery wrapped deep-edge canvas. There are D-rings and picture wire at the back, and felt pads in the corners to protect your wall.
Framing would look amazing but it is not necessary as this painting is stretched over an internal frame and is therefore ready to hang. The edges are painted warm grey in a similar tone to the rest of the painting.
Please note, framing pictured here is for illustrative purposes only. External framing is not included.
ABOUT THE ARTIST
Born into a family of musicians, authors, actors, photographers and painters, it was natural that life lead me here, poised at the canvas, brush in hand. I live entirely off-grid at my bushland home in rural Victoria with hubby, dogs and a gorgeously prolific vegetable garden.
I use art to express my immense - well, let's say obsessive - passion for the indigenous landscape, which is easily recognised in my vibrant colourful and sensitive artworks. Luscious layers of pigment are applied with energy and spontaneity, often switching from brush to palette knife to provide additional texture and depth to my paintings.
Like something similar in a different size or using different colours? I am really happy to discuss commission requests.
Please note, I do not produce prints or absolute replicas of my artwork. Your painting is one-of-a-kind.
My paintings are treated with the greatest care throughout their life in my studio and home, or at exhibitions where they may temporarily hang. Your new artwork will be carefully wrapped in bubble-wrap and sturdy cardboard.
