About this artwork
Candyland is a vibrant hot pink paint collage supplemented with black, white, red and yellow. Circles slice through the linear pattern which is edged in raised paint strips. A psychedelic and unusual painting.
Candyland featured in ArtEdit magazine’s winter edition and was critiqued by the following interior designers.
"this vibrant artwork is fresh, fun, playful and textured, and would pair well with mid-century modern pieces". (Jane Stark).
"A fabulous explosion of colour and texture, like a psychedelic jewel box or a slice through the earth of land totally made of candy". (Brett Mickan).
This work is fitted with two sets of D rings and wire for your choice of vertical or horizontal hanging (see in situ images). The pattern continues around all sides, therefore, there is no need to frame. On the back you will find my signature, initials, title and year. It is registered on the NRAA (National Registry for Australian artists). The work comes with details of the registration and a Certificate of Authenticity.
THE FRAGMENTED COLLECTION
For these works I use collage techniques to fragment various paintings that have been removed from any support. This enables me to decide which side of the dry paint to show, the side I saw when painting it or the side that painted itself. I think of this as hiding secrets in plain sight.
Each finished piece is, therefore, a unique combination of both sides of the original paintings resulting in an explosive blend of vibrant pattern. The more they are looked at the more there is to see.
