Billy Buttons of Bogong
About this artwork
Framed dimensions: 63.5cm x 52.5cm x 4.5cm
This is an oil painting on a stretched cotton canvas sitting in a Victorian Ash floating frame. Felt pads have been placed on the back corners to protect your wall. D-rings and wire have been attached, ready to hang. This painting comes with its unique story and a certificate of authenticity.
Bogong is a wonderful time to visit any time of year. But hiking or picnicing in summer is awesome. My husband and I were so mesmerised by the beautiful billy buttons and other everlasting flowers that we have planted these beauties in our garden. Billy Buttons (Craspedia) are also known as “drumsticks” and are in the daisy family. They are a beautiful native Australian plant with a beautiful buttery yellow glow which I have tried to capture in this painting.
The colour yellow is often associated with fun, joy and energy … maybe that’s why I feel happy looking at them. I hope this painting brings you a sense of these feelings too!
