About this artwork

Australian blues musician Anna Scionti is a favourite of mine. I have enjoyed her live performances on a number of occasions. This portrait attempts to capture her immersion in the music. My work focuses on the rhythms inherent in nature, the human form and blues music by utilising minimalist, hard edge abstraction, flowing line and vibrant colour. I am a keen portraitist and enjoy juxtaposing the larger, flat areas of colour in the face and body with the more detailed, linear rendition of hair.
This painting is professionally stretched on quality Italian linen with sturdy stretcher bars and has painted edges. Ready to hang with wire and D rings.
