About this artwork
A beautiful original abstract flower painting inspired by the blue hibiscus flower. The blue hibiscus flowers meaning refers to freedom. The ocean, the sea, the sky are blue so that this color is present everywhere around us. It mainly refers to sincere and free emotions, but also to the freedom of people. This color carries a message that each person has the right to feel free and make decisions on their own.
Modern flower painting by South Australian flower and nature artist Amber Gittins.
I begin with choosing my colour palette which gives me an insight into the mood of the painting right away. I then start to layer the acrylic paint, more often than not I'm working from left to the right of the canvas. (Some people have commented how unusual this process is, I see it as completely normal). Building up the colours and textures as I go, I often use complementary colours to create the depth and contrast to the artwork. I also love to show movement which comes from exaggerating the sweeping movement of the brush as I paint and also being aware of areas of dark and light tonal values to create form.
The painting has been created on artist quality 100% cotton canvas and finished with a double coat of UV resistant gloss varnish, protecting the longevity and enhancing the vibrancy of the colours.
The sides of the canvas have been painted and is a continuation of the painting, so that the image wraps around the edges. I like how this gives it a finished look and a bonus there is no need for framing as it already looks great. Although framing can look amazing as well.
It comes stretched and ready to hang with a sturdy wire and D-hooks fitted across the back. You just have to take it out of its box and pop it up on your wall.
Your painting will be hand signed on the front and back, with its title written on the rear of the canvas. You will also receive a certificate of authenticity.
