Liven up your space with Contemporary Figurative Art!
With colour, expressive gestural lines, and typography, capturing the human form with pastel on paper.
Often mistaken for being coloured paper, airbrushed or digital prints, Sabina’s figurative works are in fact done all by hand in soft pastels sharing her adaptation of the models form, to expressing a feeling, or inspiration from her surroundings while still capturing the human form with elegance, simplicity, and strength... and sometimes humour.
Sabina D'Antonio is a self taught contemporary abstract artist, who first visited Australia in 2012, before making the permanent move in 2014 from the US state of Maryland to the beautiful Mornington Peninsula of Victoria, Australia. Before moving to Australia, Sabina worked for many years as a manufacturing technician until she made the full time switch to art in 2010.
In 2015, Sabina took a chance at an untutored life drawing session, and found it to be a great avenue to keep her drawing skill active, as well as enjoying a fabulous resource of soft hues to recreate into Sabina’s coastal works. It has now become a great passion of hers, another avenue so to speak in sharing her love for colour, visual texture, and numbers.
You may ask why the numbers, the numbers are a homage to Sabina’s vast manufacturing background, combined with what captured her eye from a beach box, boat out on the water, to what comes naturally to her during the creative process.
Sabina’s original artwork is held in private collections in the US, UK, Australia, Canada, and Switzerland.
