About this artwork

Cockatoo 1 is an abstracted version of the familiar Australian bird, the sulphur crested cockatoo whose calls I often wake up to. It's the first time I've used this bird as a subject for my painting - a change from the many pelican paintings I've completed. With its strong colour contrasts, this is an ideal painting to brighten up a small space or a child's bedroom and is very affordable as a gift or for the beginner collector. The edges of the canvas are painted. It can be purchased separately or as a pair with Cockatoo 2 as displayed in the accompanying image.
