Out of India
About this artwork
Graphite, watercolour and gouache on Daniel Smith watercolour ground applied to sealed 7mm wooden board. (Unframed.)
"India is a place where color is doubly bright.
Pinks that scald your eyes, blues you could drown in."
- Kiran Millwood Hargrave.
Portrait of happy, bearded Indian man in gorgeous pink turban.
Wood was sealed and primed, then layers of Daniel Smith watercolour ground were added with both palette knife and brush. This ground (besides adding wonderful texture to the artwork) behaves like paper and allows the use of traditional paper mediums like graphite and watercolour.
Artwork comes with a Certificate of Authenticity signed by Kati Garrett Filho.
It has been sprayed with a protective archival coat and then sealed with matt varnish.
I sell my work unframed because I feel it’s a personal thing and find that most people would prefer to choose a frame that suits their decor. However if you’d like the work framed, please get in touch.
