I sometimes work in series, other times it's where the painting wants to take me and I love that. My work is often inspired by the energy and rhythm found in music and nature. I combine elements from popular culture or life’s everyday events – a word, a triggered memory or a crashing wave on a morning walk. I call these my lifescapes. Equally, travelling and experiencing urban environments evoke both movement and energy within my mark-making.
I held my first solo show in 2001, at the Australian High Commission, London U.K. From there I regularly began exhibiting via group and solo shows across the U.K. Returning to Australia in 2008, l completed my masters degree at the Queensland College of Art. I have been a finalist in SCAP Art Prize twice for both 2D & 3D artworks, held several solo exhibits including one at Cairn Regional Gallery, and have had two commercial galleries in Far North Queensland.
I gained my Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of Ballarat in 1998 and l completed my masters degree at the Queensland College of Art in 2010.
